Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1943. They started out as a small machine shop initially hiring 4 people. Sales for their first year of operation amounted to about $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and different components. Through five years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 workers and their annual sales volume had increased to $330,000. Now, Cascade is amongst the top global producers in the material handling trade.

Design and production of the company's original hydraulic cylinder allowed this young business to aggressively engage in new business opportunities. Throughout the last sixty years, the industry of material handling has developed into a very advanced area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its progress. Cascade currently continues to develop as the premier provider of lift truck accessories and numerous associated products. The business feels assured in their capability to be able to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding buyer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive within the world market.

During the nineteen fifties, Cascade began to make, design, and sell its hydraulic accessories. A brand new facility was made in the year 1956, so as to accommodate all plant offices and operations in Portland, Oregon, which is still the company's current head office. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total employees reached a hundred and eighty employees and sales had reached nearly 2.3 million dollars.

The next manufacturing plant was built in the year 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. 1960 marked Cascade's initial move into the global world of the material handling industry as the company recognized interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.

The business changed its name to Cascade Corporation in 1964. In the year 1965, Cascade went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. The company has expanded its production plants throughout the United States with places in Warner Robins, Georgia, Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade merchandise are fabricated globally because of many subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European control center. This plant is made to be the ultimate customer service centre.

Cascade further expanded their product base in the year 1996 and the year 1997 after buying 5 firms, which included the Kenhar Corporation, the global best in blades.
